KJAZZ 98.1FM co-founder, owner, and popular radio announcer DERICK CJ SYMONDS passed away whilst returning to Bermuda on Wednesday 26th august.

With a broadcasting career beginning in the late 60's Derick was regarded as Bermuda's premier straight ahead jazz radio announcer, known particularly for producing and hosting 'DOWNBEAT WITH CJ'

DERICK will be sadly missed by the local radio broadcasting fraternity, local and overseas musicians, associates, and the many listeners that have tuned in to his radio shows for over 4 decades.

To honor CJ,DOWNBEAT will continue 2-6PM Sundays hosted by Danny Garcia
